Sunday Worship

Worship Services: 8:30 & 11:00 a.m.

Sunday School: 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.

Human beings worship.  We are always worshiping something; we just may not be worshiping the true God.  At IPC, we believe worship is not something we do to escape from reality; we believe that worship is reality.  We were created to live before the face of God without fear, in love and adoration.  So when we come together to worship we are being authentically human.  Worship reorients us to who we really are and enables us to live boldly for Jesus throughout the week.  Sunday morning is a time when we regain our sanity: God is in control of everything, and He loves us!

At IPC we strive to make our worship about God.  We are called to worship the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God calls us to worship Him, and we respond to His gracious initiative.  A professor of mine once said that Jesus is the only obsession that will not destroy you.  No matter how good our family, work or past times are, they will ultimately destroy us when these good things become ultimate things.

Our worship is built on the Bible.  This means that we pray the Bible, we preach the Bible, we sing the Bible, and we read the Bible.  We believe that the Bible is our only rule for faith and practice.

Our worship is about the GospelThe Gospel is the declaration of good news about Jesus.  It’s not a suggestion or an opinion. It’s the statement of fact that Jesus came here, lived a perfect life, died, rose from the dead, and is returning at some point in history.  It is the news of total forgiveness and hope for the future for us as humans and for the restoration of all things.  When you worship with us, you will see the Gospel in our liturgy, hear it in the preaching, and taste it when we go to the Lord’s Table on the first Sunday of every month.

Finally, we want our Worship to Connecwith real people where they really live.  Our worship style can be called “traditional,” but we want to shun formalism and elitism.  We hope that when you come and worship with us, you will not just be entertained or hear a lecture in theology, but that you will meet with Jesus, “the friend of sinners.”  The Gospel is good news for you right where you are.

Can children attend WORSHIP?  Your children are welcome to attend some of or all of the worship service. On the middle level of the church, the IPC Children's Ministry offers K-Church (for Kindergarteners) and Junior Church (for 1st & 2nd Graders). On the lower level of the church the IPC Nursery & Preschool Ministry  has classrooms for infants through preschool (Room assignments are based on the child's birthdate). These ministries are available during BOTH worship services.

What about attire for WORSHIP?  There is no dress code at IPC!  You will see people in suits and some in jeans and everything in between.
